Philology Vol. 9 (W 120)
"Good evening, everyone, this station is broadcasting tonight from Carnegie Hall, presenting Norman Granz and his Jazz at the Philharmonic, the modern jazz section of the Carnegie Pops series. This is Al Anderson from the broadcasting booth at Carnegie Hall. We're not gonna do very much talking, we'd like to get you downstage to hear some of this great modern jazz. Now in this set, Buddy Rich on drums; Eddie Safranski, bass; Hank Jones, piano; Coleman Hawkins on tenor; Roy Eldridge, trumpet; and Charlie Parker, the Bird himself, on alto sax -- blasting away on some bebop (undecipherable), 'Lover Come Back to Me'. Here is Jazz at the Philharmonic."
